Taman Ayun Temple

Taman Ayun Temple is a Royal Temple of Mengwi Empire. This temple located in the village of Mengwi, now a town, around 18 kms north west of Denpasar city. If one wish to find this temple can take the main road of Denpasar - Bedugul through the town of Kapal, then arrive at well known cow market of Beringkit, from here the temple is only around 5 kms to the direction of Bedugul.

Exactly at the cross road of Mengwi town turn right, one will soon see the temple. The name of Taman Ayun literally means the garden of mind. The wide beautiful landscape garden in front courtyard to welcome all visitors who come and visit this temple. It is a beautiful place to visit on your tour and vacation in Bali.

Rules When Visiting Temples in Bali

  • Don’t enter the temple when menstruating
  • Wear a sarong to enter to the temple area
  • Wear polite clothes
  • Avoid pointing your feet at the altar
  • Don’t Step Over or Tread on Offerings
  • Respect areas of worship
  • Pay due respect
  • Pay entrance ticketing due respect
  • Don't say harsh words, fight, shout, don't climb the holy temple, don't step on a purified statue
