Bali Art Center
Bali Art Center known as Taman Budaya Ardha Chandra located at Kesiman sub-district, municipality of Denpasar. More precisely is at the southern end of the Nusa Indah street of East Denpasar city, about 45 minutes drive from Internasional Airport Ngurah Rai and it is opened in the year 1973 by Mr. Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra who was been a Bali Governor on that period.
Three accesses can be taken to reach the area, one is from Sanur taking Jalan Hang Tuah from where bigger cars can enter, or from the crossroad of Jalan Gianyar and Gatot Subroto which is preferable to go with traffic flows already in line as in Indonesia including Bali the line is on the left.
Third access is from west Denpasar city which are available many roads, but all are difficult due to the dense traffic, only smaller cars such as taxi or minivan are suggested to access art center from the west.
There is the biggest famous art festival in Bali which is held at Bali Art Center is called Bali Artistry Party (Pesta Kesenian Bali). This festival is usually held a month start from June to July every year.
Bali Arts Festival is a full month of daily performances, handicraft exhibitions and other related cultural and commercial activities during which literally the whole of Bali comes to the city to present its offerings of dance, music and beauty.
On display are trances from remote mountain slopes, forgotten or recently revived village dances, food and offering contests, classical palace dances, stars of Balinese stage, odd musical performances, "kreasi baru" (new creations) from the dance schools of Denpasar, as well as contemporary choreography and dance companies from other islands and from abroad.
