Atuh Beach

Atuh Beach

Arriving at the beach will see the spectacular and beautiful view from top with high hills in the middle of sea like Raja Ampat, Papua. Atuh Beach is located in the Pelilit hamlet, Pujanutan, Nusa Penida, Klungkung. Atuh Beach began to be known by domestic and foreign tourists about 8 years ago, and now is another top destination must be visiting while on holiday in Bali

The beauty of the scenery on This perfect beach that is flanked by towering, rocky cliffs with clear sea water makes this beach called paradise island. You can also spend time sunbathing on the beach, by renting beach chairs provided by the local people.

Melawang Island or Pepadasan Island is the largest coral island in the cluster. Local residents also often call this island a hollow stone, because this island does have a tunnel. Atuh Beach is also a location for religious activities. Not far from the beach, there is a temple named Pura Atuh. This is often visited by Hindus in Bali. In the west of Atuh Temple there are two springs, one of which is considered sacred and is only used for religious purposes of the local community.

According to local stories, the two springs never dry during the dry season. The locals name it "Pantai Atuh" in Indonesia or in English "Atuh Beach". In Balinese, the word / atuh / comes from two bars namely "A" (no) and "Tuh" (dry) so. The word / atuh / interpreted means "never dry".
